A&E Locksmiths Edinburgh

A&E Locksmiths Edinburgh is a family-owned locksmith business established in 2003. It has assisted motorists with lost, broken and replacement keys for over 20 years. The company serves Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and the Borders. Staff are fully trained and insurance approved. A&E Locksmiths is a member of the Auto Locksmith Association (ALA). It uses non-destructive vehicle entry techniques such as lock picking.

The company cuts and programmes new transponder keys for vehicles and removes broken keys using specialist key extraction tools. Its services include mobile car locksmith, van and truck locksmith, key fob transponder programming, replacement car keys, non-destructive vehicle entry, broken car key extraction, duplicate car keys, car key cutting from key number, ignition lock repair and replacement, and car remote services.

Edinburgh drivers locked out of their cars, stranded after losing a sole key or dealing with the aftermath of an attempted theft describe a service that resolves matters quickly and without fuss. Steven is named repeatedly for his kind, patient and reassuring approach, including in a situation where a child was shut inside a vehicle. Keys and remote fobs are cut and programmed on site, often within twenty minutes, while ignition barrel replacement has had cars locking correctly again in under half an hour.

A number of reviews mention quotes given in advance that were considered competitive, with figures well below those offered elsewhere for the same job. Kindness that goes beyond the brief comes up as well: one key fob had a damaged button repaired without being asked and at no extra cost, and a spare was supplied so the problem would not return. Punctuality, knowledgeable advice and a professional manner from the initial enquiry to the finished job recur in accounts, alongside clear communication throughout and a tidy approach to the work.
