Campbell & McGovern Locksmiths

Campbell & McGovern Locksmiths was founded in 1981 in Bootle, Merseyside, and is a family-run business. The founder is Frank McGovern, and Joe, son of Frank and Carol, is a director who trained as a locksmith at age 16. The company has been MLA approved since 1995, and is DBS checked and CHAS accredited.

It has over 40 years of experience in locksmithing and the security trade, with the team holding over 150 years of combined experience. The company serves domestic, commercial, and automotive sectors, and operates across the North West region and beyond. Services include emergency lock replacement, safe installation and opening, personalised engraving, key cutting, and security surveys.

Bootle residents describing their dealings with Campbell & McGovern Locksmiths highlight speed and dependability above all, with same-day appointments and jobs finished inside the promised window coming up again and again. Peter and Kyle are singled out by name for their courteous, capable and reassuring manner, and reviewers note that whoever attends keeps the household informed from the first call through to completion.

The tasks covered range widely: swapping out locks, mending faulty mechanisms, replacing damaged barrels, cutting or supplying new keys, opening doors after lockouts and fitting upgraded hardware, often within half an hour of arrival. Several customers remark on the clarity of pricing, finding the final figure fair and in some cases less than anticipated, while others mention that the engineer explained options for additional security equipment before any decision was made.

Troubleshooting a stubborn spare key that ultimately needed replacing is recalled as handled without fuss, and work is consistently described as neat and thorough, from emergency entry to planned lock changes. Word-of-mouth recommendation runs through the accounts, with the service passed on to friends and neighbours who report similarly dependable results, and it is this steady reliability, technical competence and pleasant, professional conduct that reviewers return to when describing their experience.
